You're also told straight up that the man is a cheater, and you are also granted mechanics to balance out or overcome his dirtier tricks. Yeah he does do that, tho I managed to beat with with bifurcated strike on one of my heavy hitters with mothman dealing dmg on the same lane.
Arcanestomper View Profile View Posts. Admittedly it was bad the first time the second boss pulled that on me. And when the third boss did it on my second life I was about ready to quit. That felt amazing. Broke through the grizzlys with a high attack card, a turn skip, and the dagger. Not common to have all 3 at once but it was satisfying beating him after he tried to cut my run short.

The first death is to teach you about Death Cards, you get stopped at the Fisher if you haven't yet learned about bone tokens. It's good game design. It would be way more frusterating to spend twice your time in the run only to learn later that mechanics get introduced based on the number of runs you've done. I'd be kind of pissed, its starting to appear more and more like a Phil Fish dev..
